Battery, Removing And Installing, Engine Compartment Battery: Removing

-- Disconnect the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING, ENGINE COMPARTMENT BATTERY .

-- Open the heat shield boot cover.

-- Open the cover for the battery positive terminal.

-- Loosen the nut -2- several turns.

-- Remove the battery positive cable terminal clamp -1- from the battery positive terminal.

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

-- Remove the bracket -2-.

-- Remove the battery -1- in the direction of travel from the battery tray and lift it upward out of the engine compartment.
