Auxiliary Radiator, Removing And Installing: Removing
The cooling system may be under pressure. There is a risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.
Scalding the skin and other parts of the body is possible.
- Wear safety gloves.
- Wear protective eyewear.
- Reduce the pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a suitable towel and carefully opening it.
-- Open the coolant expansion tank cap -arrow-.
-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .
-- Remove the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to OVERVIEW - FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER .
-- Remove the side air intake grille trim. Refer to the appropriate Service Information .
-- Unclip the air duct -1- in the direction of -arrow- and leave in the installation position.
-- Clamp off the coolant hoses using the Hose Clamps - Up To 25mm:3094 .
-- Place a cleaning cloth underneath, to catch cleaning coolant leaking out.
-- Loosen the clamps -3- and remove the coolant hoses.
-- Unclip the coolant hoses from the bracket -1-.
-- Remove the nuts -arrows- and auxiliary radiator -4- with bracket -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -5- and guide out the auxiliary radiator -4- from the bracket -2-.
