Rear Lid, Adjusting: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

NOTE:

The vehicle must be on all four wheels when adjusting the rear lid.

The latch -2- is bolted directly to the rear lid -1-. The latch cannot be adjusted.

The left and right adjusting buffers -4- are not meant for adjusting. They have the task of stabilizing and cushioning the rear lid.

The rear lid is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed. It is not too far inward or outward. And the contours align.

The rear lid must engage in the striker without great force.

To adjust or check the gap dimensions, use the Gauge - Gap Adjustment:3371  .

-- The engine compartment lid latch -2- cannot be adjusted.

-- Loosen the striker -4- and adjust after adjusting the hinge and the adjusting buffer. Refer to Striker, Adjusting .

-- By loosening the left and right bolts -6-, the rear lid -1- can be adjusted in the oversized holes on the hinge -5- in direction of -a and b arrows-.

-- After adjusting, apply a corrosion protection to the hinge and bolts -6-.

-- Adjust the adjusting buffer -3-.
