Sealing Flange, Removing And Installing, Transmission Side: Notes

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removing

-- Remove the transmission. Refer to TRANSMISSION, REMOVING .

-- Remove the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the oil pan. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the sealing flange bolts -1 and 2-.

NOTE:

Risk of damaging the cylinder head gasket. The cylinder head gasket can kink if it is bent too much. A kinked cylinder head gasket must be replaced.

-- Remove the sealing flange from the cylinder block horizontally.

-- Press the crankshaft shaft seal out of the lower timing chain cover.
