Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
The Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- is installed between the intake manifold and generator in the cylinder head.
Removing
-- Remove the ribbed belt tensioner. Refer to RIBBED BELT TENSIONER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolt for the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -- -arrow-.
-- Remove the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -- on the connector -1- from the cylinder head.
-- Remove the connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor --.
The O-ring and the support washer can get stuck in the cylinder head. Check if the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- is >>complete<<.
-- The following components must be on the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor --.
- Support Washer
- O-Ring
If the O-ring and the support washer are stuck in the cylinder head, they must be pulled out with a wire. To do so, bend a wire with an approximately 1.5 mm diameter that is slightly bent at the end.
Installing:
-- Coat the O-ring with coolant additive.
-- Place the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -- in the installation position and press it into the cylinder head with a suitable tool.
Install in reverse order of removal, note the following:
- Tightening specification for the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -- : 5 Nm.
