Coolant Pump, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removing

-- Remove the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

-- Remove the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the pendulum support. Refer to OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNTS .

-- Loosen the exhaust system bracket -arrows-.

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Support the engine in the installation position. Refer to ENGINE, SUPPORTING IN INSTALLATION POSITION .

-- Remove the engine mount. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Lift the engine slightly using the Engine Support Bridge:10 - 222 A  .

-- Remove the solenoid valve -1- from the bracket.

-- Remove the vacuum hoses -2- and -3-. Move the valve to the side.

-- Lower the engine with the Engine Support Bridge:10 - 222 A  until it is possible to remove the coolant pump from below.

-- Counterhold the belt pulley using the Counterhold - Multiple Use:T10172A  to remove the belt pulley -1- from the coolant pump.

-- Remove the coolant pump radiator bolts -arrows- and then remove the coolant pump -1- downward.

Installing:

-- Clean the sealing surface on the cylinder block.

-- Coat the gasket on the coolant pump with coolant.

-- Insert the new coolant pump.

-- Tighten the bolts for the coolant pump.

-- Install the belt pulley for the coolant pump.

-- Lift the engine again using the Engine Support Bridge:10 - 222 A  .

-- Install the vacuum hoses -2- and -3-.

-- Position the solenoid valve -1- back on the bracket. Pay attention that the vacuum hoses have enough distance to the belt drive.

-- Install the engine mount. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the pendulum support. Refer to PENDULUM SUPPORT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the ribbed belt. Refer to RIBBED BELT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Install the right front wheel housing liner. Refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the noise insulation. Refer to OVERVIEW - NOISE INSULATION .

Tightening Specifications

Refer to OVERVIEW - ASSEMBLY MOUNTS

Refer to OVERVIEW - COOLANT PUMP/COOLANT THERMOSTAT
