Rear Lid, Adjusting: Notes

Preparing
Conditions
- When adjusting the rear lid, the vehicle must be resting on its wheels on a level surface.
- The rear lid must engage in the striker without great force.
The rear lid is correctly installed, when it is closed and:
- The gap dimensions are even.
- The contours align.
- The rear lid is not positioned too far inward or outward.
The procedure shown is for the left side of the vehicle as an example.
-- Loosen the striker. Refer to Striker, Removing and Installing .
Rear Lid Hinge, Loosening
-- Loosen the bolts -2-.
-- Push the rear lid in the direction of -arrow A- or in direction of -arrow B-.
-- Tighten the bolts -2- by hand.
-- Tighten the bolts -2- to the tightening specification.
-- Check the body gap dimensions using the Gauge - Gap Adjustment:3371 . For this, pay attention to the appropriate Service Information.
-- If the rear lid is not correctly adjusted, loosen the hinge from the body (refer to Hinge to Body, Loosening ) and adjust the rear lid.
