Turbocharger, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal and note the following:

NOTE:

Replace seals, gaskets, O-rings and self-locking nuts.

Coat the stud bolts on the turbocharger with hot bolt paste; hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information.

Fill the turbocharger with engine oil at the oil supply line connection.

Hose connections and charge air system hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.

Secure all hose connections with standard production hose clamps. Refer to the Parts Information.

-- Install the front exhaust pipe with the catalytic converter. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the exhaust system without tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .

-- Fill with coolant. Refer to Filling .

-- Check the oil level.

NOTE:

After installing the turbocharger, let the engine run at idle for approximately one minute and without increasing the engine speed. This ensures the turbocharger is supplied with oil.
