Overview - Coolant Pump/Coolant Thermostat

1. Coolant Thermostat Housing
   • Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT THERMOSTAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
2. Coolant Thermostat
   • For the small engine coolant system
   • Starts to open at approximately 105 °C (221 °F)
   • There are different versions installed. Refer to the Parts Information.
   • Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT THERMOSTAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
3. Seal
   • Always replace after removing.
4. Coolant Pump
   • Replace the toothed belt also if replacing the coolant pump
   • Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT PUMP, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
5. Bolt
   • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
   • Thread cutting
   • Position the bolt by hand and tighten it until it finds the old threads, then tighten the bolt to the tightening specification
6. Seal
   • Always replace after removing.
   • Make sure the seal is seated correctly.
   • Coat with coolant before installing
7. Toothed Belt Guard
   • For the coolant pump toothed belt
8. Bolt
   • 20 Nm + 90°
   • Always replace after removing.
9. O-Ring
   • Always replace after removing.
   • Not installed on all engine codes
   • Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT PUMP TOOTHED BELT SPROCKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
10. Toothed Belt
    • Replace the toothed belt also if replacing the coolant pump
    • For the coolant pump
11. Toothed Belt Sprocket
    • For the coolant pump
    • Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT PUMP TOOTHED BELT SPROCKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
12. Bolt
    • 8 Nm
13. Bolt
    • Thread cutting
    • Position the bolt by hand and tighten it until it finds the old threads, then tighten the bolt to the tightening specification
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 4.
14. Cap
    • For the coolant thermostat
15. Seal
    • Always replace after removing.
16. Coolant Thermostat
    • For the large engine coolant system
    • Through 11/2012: begins opening at approximately 80 °C (176 °F)
    • From 11/2012: begins opening at approximately 87 °C (188.6 °F)
    • Installation position. Refer to Fig 2.
    • Removing and installing. Refer to COOLANT THERMOSTAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
17. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Installing - Tighten the bolts in the specified sequence. .

• Must fit in the thermostat housing with the centering pin inside the guide -arrow-.
