Spoiler, Removing And Installing, Convertible: Installing
Make sure that the correct materials are being used during the corresponding work steps.
-- Observe the installation instructions for two-sided adhesive tape. Refer to Two Sided Tape, Installation Instructions .
-- Prepare the rear spoiler and rear lid for bonding. Refer to Bonding Rear Spoiler and Rear Lid, Preparing .
-- Apply the one-part assembly adhesive to the rear spoiler using the :VAG1628 -1-.
If the vehicle has a Satellite Tuner Antenna -R172- in the rear spoiler, the one-part assembly adhesive must not come in contact with the wiring guide and connector for the related antenna wire.
-- Remove the protective film from the left and right of the two-sided adhesive tape -2- on the rear spoiler.
-- If the vehicle has a Satellite Tuner Antenna -R172- in the rear spoiler, pay attention to the antenna wire when installing the rear spoiler and thread it into the appropriate hole on the rear lid.
-- Position the rear spoiler and the rear lid and align the two ball studs with a second technician.
-- Press the rear spoiler onto the rear lid and secure with adhesive tape.
Vehicles with Satellite Tuner Antenna -R172- in the Rear Spoiler
-- Connect the connector to the Satellite Tuner Antenna -R172- in the rear spoiler.
-- Install the rear lid trim panel. Refer to REAR LID LOWER TRIM PANEL (CONVERTIBLE) .
