Fuel Injectors, Removing And Installing: Installing

NOTE:

Replace the spacer ring if damaged.

Coat the fuel injector O-rings thinly with clean engine oil.

Do not oil or grease the combustion chamber sealing ring on the fuel injector.

When installing the injector valve, make sure there is no cleaning product or oil in the holes in the cylinder head.

If necessary clean the used fuel injectors. Refer to FUEL INJECTORS, CLEANING .

-- Replace the fuel injector seals. Refer to FUEL INJECTOR SEALS, REPLACING .

-- Using the : T10133/4 thoroughly clean the high-pressure fuel injector bores in the cylinder head before installing the fuel injectors.

-- Press the fuel injector by hand into cylinder head (free of oil and grease) all the way. Make sure the fuel injectors are positioned correctly inside the cylinder head.

-- The tab -1- and the opening -arrow- must be aligned in the cylinder head.

NOTE:

The fuel injector must not be difficult to install. If necessary, wait until the combustion chamber seal is sufficiently tightened.

Check the fuel injectors for correct seating and installation position in the cylinder head.

If the fuel injector cannot be installed by hand, proceed as follows:

Slide the : T10133/18 over the fuel injector.

To drive in the fuel injector sleeve carefully hit it.

-- Install the support ring onto the fuel injector.

-- Moisten fuel injector O-rings with clean engine oil.

-- Position the fuel rail mounts on the fuel injectors and apply uniform pressure.

-- Install the fuel rail. Refer to FUEL RAIL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
