Battery Tray, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the Battery -A-. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- If necessary for vehicles with gasoline engines, remove the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [DDSA, DDSB] (CONVERTIBLE) / AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING [CPLA, CPPA, CPKA, CPRA] (CONVERTIBLE) .

-- On vehicles with an automatic transmission (except 5-cylinder gasoline engine) remove the Transmission Control Module -J217- from the battery tray. Refer to COMPONENT LOCATION OVERVIEW - TRANSMISSION CONTROL (J217) (CONVERTIBLE) .

-- On vehicles with 5-cylinder gasoline engine remove the power steering reservoir with bracket from the battery tray. Refer to OVERVIEW - HYDRAULIC LINES AND RESERVOIR (CONVERTIBLE) .

-- Remove the positive cable to the E-box from the battery tray.

-- For vehicles with a pre-reservoir, disengage the pre-reservoir from the battery tray on the left front side.

-- Remove the screws -2-.
