Rear Lid, Adjusting, Sedan: Notes

Rear Lid, Adjusting

NOTE:

Perform the adjustment to prevent noise from the rear lid.

The vehicle must be on the ground when adjusting the rear lid.

Lid lock -4- is bolted directly to the rear lid -1-. It does not have any elongated holes so it cannot be adjusted.

The lower left and right adjusting buffers -2- and the left and right side adjusting buffers -3- are not for adjusting. Their function is to stabilize and to cushion the rear lid -1-.

The rear lid is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed, it is not too far inward or outward and contours align.

Rear lid must engage in striker pin without great force.

To adjust or control gap dimensions use the Gauge - Gap Adjustment 3371 .

-- The rear lid -1- can be adjusted in the large opening in the hinge by loosening the nuts -6- and the bolts -7- -arrows a- and -arrows b-.

-- After adjusting, apply a corrosion protection to the hinge and bolts.

-- Adjust the lower adjusting buffer -2-, refer to LOWER ADJUSTING BUFFER, ADJUSTING .

-- Adjust the side adjusting buffer -3-, refer to SIDE ADJUSTING BUFFER, ADJUSTING .

-- Adjust the rear lid -1- at the striker pin -5- .
