Step 3: Shavings In The Fuel Delivery Unit And Reservoir

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required
- Suction Pump VAS 5226
-- Clean the fuel delivery unit and the fuel delivery unit with the Suction Pump VAS 5226.
-- Fill the fuel tank with 5 liters of diesel fuel.
-- Drain the fuel tank completely once more as described above. Refer to STEP 1: ENGINE WAS STARTED WITH INCORRECT FUEL .
-- Replace the following high pressure components:
- High pressure pump. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- High pressure lines. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- High pressure reservoir (rail) including the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve -N276- and Fuel Pressure Sensor -G247-. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Injector. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Fuel return lines (oil overflow line). Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Replace the fuel filter. Refer to FUEL FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
-- Fuel the vehicle.
-- Bleed the fuel system. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
-- Perform a road test.
