Left Flange Shaft And Seal: Installing

-- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the new seal with oil.

-- Fill the area between the sealing and dust lips -arrow- halfway with sealing grease G 052 128 A1.

-- Drive in the new seal until fully seated and without tilting it using the Seal Installer - Flange Shaft Oil Seal T10160.

-- Install the flange shaft.

-- Push the flange shaft against the pressure spring on the transmission housing and tighten the bolt to specification, see -item 10- in DIFFERENTIAL OVERVIEW .

-- Install the drive axle to the flange shaft., refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Check the transmission fluid level and fill if necessary, refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID, CHECKING AND REPLACEMENT .

-- Install the left front wheel housing liner, refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Install the noise insulation, refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Install the wheel., refer to Specifications .
