Selector Shaft Seal, Replacing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Press Piece - Shift Rod/Alternator:VW423 
• Torque Wrench 1331 5-50Nm:VAG1331 
• Sealing Grease
• Allocate the spring. Refer to the Parts information.

-- Remove transmission shift lever and relay lever. Refer to OVERVIEW - SELECTOR MECHANISM .

-- Remove the seal with a screwdriver.

-- Lightly oil the new gasket on the outer edge.

-- Fill the area between the sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- halfway with Sealing Grease.

-- Drive in the seal using the :VW423  .
