Engine Was Not Started With Incorrect Fuel

Diesel Pressure Tester Kit:VAS6551
Diesel Pressure Tester Kit - Adapter Set:VAS6551/5
Trim Removal Wedge:3409
Vehicle Diagnostic Tester

-- Empty the fuel tank as much as possible through the filler neck using the :VAS5190 . Refer to FUEL TANK, DRAINING WHEN MORE THAN .

-- Remove the rear bench seat. Refer to BENCH SEAT/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Unclip the sealing flange cover -1- at the tabs in direction of -arrows- using the :3409 .

-- Unclip the grommet -1- downward out of the cover -2-.

-- Guide the cover -2- on the wiring harness -3- toward the rear.

WARNING:

Remember that if the battery is connected, the fuel pump will turn on when a door is opened. Fuel may leak out when the system is open.

-- Remove the fuel return line -2- from the sealing flange. Disconnect the connector couplings. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, SEPARATING .

WARNING:

The fuel line is under pressure.

Fuel poses a risk of injury to the eyes and skin.

Wear protective eyewear and protective clothing to avoid injury and contact with skin. Place a cleaning cloth around the connection point before loosening hose connections. Carefully open the connection point to release the pressure.

-- Connect the :VAS6551/1 from the :VAS6551 to the fuel return line.

-- If necessary, lengthen the :VAS6551/1 with the :VAS6551/5-1 and a commercially available hose.

-- Guide the free end of the :VAS6551/1 into a suitable container.

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Perform the Guided Function: Empty Fuel Tank .

NOTE:

The fuel pump is now activated.

-- Repeat this procedure as necessary until the fuel tank is completely empty.

-- Fill the fuel tank with five liters of diesel fuel.

-- Drain the fuel tank again completely as described above.

-- Re-connect the fuel return line -2-.

-- Replace the fuel filter. Refer to FUEL FILTER .

-- Fuel the vehicle and perform a road test.
