- Turn until it clicks and locks.
- Attached to tank flap unit with fastening device
- Ground Connection
- For fuel filler tube
- For discharging electrostatic charge. Refer to Fuel Filler Tube Ground Connection .
- Bolt
- 8 Nm +90° turn
- Replace after removing
- Ventilation Grommet
- Note the installed position. Refer to Ventilation Grommet Installed Position .
- Locking Ring
- 110 Nm ± 5 Nm
- Seal
- Replace after removing
- Install dry
- Fuel Delivery Unit
- Overview. Refer to OVERVIEW - FUEL DELIVERY UNIT/FUEL LEVEL SENSOR .
- Removing and installing. Refer to FUEL DELIVERY UNIT/FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- With Fuel Level Sensor -G-
- Fuel Level Sensor -G-, Removing and Installing. Refer to Fuel Level Sensor -G-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- With Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-
- Checking Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-. Refer to Transfer Fuel Pump -G6-, CHECKING .
- Connections to the fuel delivery unit. Refer to Fuel Lines to the Fuel Delivery Unit

- Fuel Tank
- Removing and installing. Refer to FUEL TANK, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, VEHICLES WITH FWD AND MULTI-LINK REAR AXLE .
- Heat Shield
- For the fuel tank
- Locking Plate
- For the heat shield
- Quantity: 4
- Mounting Strap
- Pay attention to proper seating
- Mark the direction of travel during removal
- Bolt
- 20 Nm +90° turn
- Replace after removing
- Bracket
- For the Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-
- Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-, removing and installing. Refer to Fuel Pump Control Module -J538-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bracket
- For the Metering Pump -V54-
- Make sure the Metering Pump -V54- is seated correctly in the bracket
- Fuel Return Line
- From engine
- Do not kink
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- To disconnect, press release button on the connection piece.
- The connector couplings must >>audibly<< engage when locking.
- Pull on the connector coupling to make sure it is secure.
- Connector couplings, disconnecting. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, SEPARATING .
- Fuel Supply Line
- To the fuel filter
- Do not kink
- Clipped to the fuel tank
- To disconnect, press the release button on the connecting piece
- The connector couplings must >>audibly<< engage when locking.
- Pull on the connector coupling to check for secure fit.
- Connector Couplings, Disconnecting. Refer to CONNECTOR COUPLINGS, SEPARATING .
- Check the fit by pulling on it.
- Fuel Line
- For vehicles with a parking heater, from the Metering Pump -V54- for parking heater
- Do not kink
- Metering Pump -V54-
- For vehicles with parking heater
