Overview - Cylinder Head: Notes

- Cylinder Block
- Cylinder Head Gasket
- Replace after removing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Cylinder head gasket identification. Refer to Cylinder Head Gasket Identification .
- Fill with coolant the coolant and change the engine oil after replacing
- Cylinder Head
- Removing and installing. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Only set the removed cylinder head down on a foam insert. Otherwise the glow plugs can be damaged.
- Checking for distortion. Refer to Cylinder Head, Checking for Distortion .
- Must not be reworked
- Make sure both alignment sleeves for centering the cylinder head on the cylinder block are actually there before installing.
- Fill with coolant the coolant and change the engine oil after replacing

- For the camshaft housing
- Bolt
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Cylinder Head - Tightening Specification and Sequence .
- Always replace after removing.
- Loosening sequence. Refer to Removing .

- 20 Nm
- Engine Lifting Eye
- Spacer Ring
- Replace if damaged
- O-ring
- Always replace after removing.
- Coat with coolant
- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62-

- Double Bolt
- Tightening specification -item 4) OVERVIEW - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor -G62- - Double Bolt .

- Always replace after removing.
