Reducing Agent Tank, Removing And Installing: Removing
Danger due to reducing agent leaking out.
- Read the safety precautions for handling reducing agent. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON SCR SYSTEM .
-- Drain the reducing agent tank. Refer to REDUCING AGENT TANK, DRAINING .
-- Remove the right rear wheel. Refer to WHEELS AND TIRES .
-- Remove the wheel housing liner bolt -arrow-.
-- Disconnect and remove the connectors -3 and 4-.
-- Release and disconnect the hose connections -1 and 5-.
-- Seal all the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .
-- Unclip the bracket -2- from the SRC hoses.
-- Remove the bolts and nuts -arrow-, and remove the reducing agent tank cover -1-.
-- Unclip and disconnect the connector -arrow- for the reducing agent ventilation line heater.
-- Release and remove the connector -2- from the Reducing Agent Quality Sensor -G849- -1-.
-- Unclip all wires from the reducing agent tank.
-- Place the :VAG1383A or VAS6931 with a soft foam pad underneath to support the reducing agent tank.

- The container must be empty to remove it.
-- With a second mechanic to hold the reducing agent tank, remove the bolts -arrow-.
For better illustration the Engine/Gearbox Jack underneath is not shown.
-- Lower the reducing agent tank using the :VAS6931 .
-- Guide the reducing agent tank at the same time by hand.
-- Seal the open lines and connections with clean plugs from the :VAS6122 .
