EGR Cooler, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install In Reverse Order Of Removal And Note The Following: 

NOTE:

Inspect the heat shield mat for damages and replace if necessary.

If the heat shield mat is faulty, check the EGR Motor 2 -V339- for heat damage and if necessary replace.

Replace the seals, screw-type clamps and hose clamps after removal.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps that match the ones used in series production.

-- Install the hose -2- on the EGR cooler -1-.

-- Pay attention that the air duct hose sits without tension.

-- Install the EGR cooler -1- with the seal and clamp on the emissions control module.

-- Turn the EGR cooler counterclockwise in direction of -arrow- and at the same time insert the hose -3- for the turbocharger -2-.

-- Move the screw-type clamp -3- in its installation position. The screw-type clamp must not contact any component.

-- Tighten the threaded connections. Refer to EGR Cooler - Tightening Specifications and Sequences .

-- Install the left coolant pipes. Refer to LEFT COOLANT PIPES, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, FILLING . Used coolant cannot be used again.
