Installing Locating Pins T10096
To secure the subframe, the Locating Pins T10096 must be installed in positions -1-, -2-, -3- and -4-, one after the other.
Locating PinsT10096 may only be tightened to a maximum of 20 Nm, since otherwise the threads of the locating bolts will be damaged.
-- Replace the bolts of the mounting bracket one after the other on both sides using Locating Pins T10096 and tighten them to 20 Nm.
-- Replace the front bolts of the subframe one after the other using Locating Pins T10096 and tighten to 20 Nm.
Position of front axle is now secured.
Continue with removing stabilizer Removing .
Continue with removing steering gear Removing => Engine-/Gearbox JackVAG1383A under subframe. .
Continue removing the subframe without the steering gear Removing .
Continue removing the subframe with the steering gear Removing .
Removing Locating Pins T10096
Removal is performed in the reverse order of installation. Make sure that the Locating Pins T10096 are replaced one after the other with new bolts.
If the steering wheel is still crooked after using the Locating Pins T10096 then an axle alignment is necessary. In this case the record it in the vehicles axle alignment log.
