Overview - Balance Shaft Drive Chain: Notes
NOTE:
After performing work on the chain drive the adaptation value in the engine control module must be adapted. To do this turn on the ignition and select the following menu items on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester:

- Guide Pin
- 20 Nm
- Tensioning Rail
- For the timing chain
- Balance Shaft
- Exhaust side
- Must be replaced after removing
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Replacing. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT EXHAUST SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Guide Pin
- 20 Nm
- Guide Rail
- For the timing chain
- Chain Tensioner
- 85 Nm
- Install with locking fluid.
- Seal
- Cylinder Block
- O-ring
- Coat with engine oil
- Mounting Pin
- Lubricate with engine oil
- Installed position. Refer to 11Mounting Pins - Installation Position
- Intermediate Sprocket
- The intermediate sprocket must be replaced if the bolt -item 13- is loosened.
- Thrust Washer
- Bolt
- Replace after removing
- The intermediate sprocket -item 11- must be replaced if the bolt is loosened.
- Tightening sequence. Refer to Intermediate Sprocket Tightening Sequence
- Guide Rail
- For balance shaft timing chain
- Guide Pin
- 20 Nm
- Balance Shaft
- Must be replaced after removing
- Intake side
- Lubricate the bearing with engine oil
- Replacing. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT INTAKE SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Three Stage Chain Sprocket
- Installed position. Refer to Three Stage Chain Sprocket - Installed Position
- Balance Shaft Drive Chain
- Removing and installing. Refer to BALANCE SHAFT DRIVE CHAIN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
