Crankshaft, Measuring Axial Clearance: Procedure

-- Secure the :VAS6079  on the cylinder block with the :VW387  as shown and place it against the crankshaft.

-- Press the crankshaft against the dial gauge by hand.

-- Set the dial gauge to "0".

-- Press the crankshaft off the dial gauge and read the measured value.

Axial Clearance: 

• New: 0.07 to 0.17 mm
• Wear limit: 0.37 mm
