Rear Lid, Adjusting: Notes
The vehicle must be on the ground when adjusting the rear lid.
Lid lock -3- is bolted directly to the rear lid -1-. It does not have any elongated holes so it cannot be adjusted.
The left and right buffers -2- are not meant for adjusting. Their function is to stabilize and to cushion the rear lid -1-.
The rear lid is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed, it is not too far inward or outward and contours align.
Rear lid must engage in striker pin without great force.
Perform the following:
To adjust or control gap dimensions use the Gauge.
-- If equipped, remove the left and right hinge cover, refer to REAR LID HINGE COVER .
-- Loosen the bolts -4- and adjust the rear lid -1- in the oversized holes on the hinge in direction of -arrows a- and in direction of -arrows b-.
Bolt tightening specification -4- : 9 Nm
-- After adjusting, apply a corrosion protection to the hinge and bolts.
