Sealing Flange, Flywheel Side

Removing

-- Remove the transmission.

-- Remove the flywheel. Refer to FLYWHEEL .

-- Remove the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN .

-- Remove the sealing flange bolts -arrows-.

Installing

NOTE:

Do not additionally oil or grease the sealing lip of the oil seal!

-- Clean the sealing surfaces. They must be free of oil and grease.

-- Before installing, remove any remaining oil from the end of the crankshaft with a clean cloth.

-- To install, use the support sleeve provided. The support sleeve may only be removed after the sealing flange has been slid onto the crankshaft end. The sealing flange sits on the alignment pins.

-- Tighten the sealing flange bolts -arrows- to 15 Nm.

-- Install the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN .

The rest of the assembly is basically a reverse of the removal sequence.
