Intake Connection With Electrical EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve And Potentiometer

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Wet and dry vacuum VAS 5128
Brush with plastic bristles

Disassembling

-- Remove the intake connection together with the EGR potentiometer -G212- with the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve -N18-, refer to INTAKE CONNECTION WITH ELECTRICAL EGR VACUUM REGULATOR SOLENOID VALVE AND POTENTIOMETER .

-- Carefully remove the bolts -1- and the EGR potentiometer -G212- together with the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve -N18- -2- from the intake connection -4-

-- Use a brush with plastic bristles to clean the rusty surfaces on the exhaust gas return valve seat. Then remove loose rust with a cloth.

-- Line inner intake manifold with a lint free cloth to protect against soot particles.

-- Clean the exhaust gas return valve seat in the intake manifold using a brush with plastic bristles and a cloth. Make sure no rust particles get into the intake manifold.

-- Take the cloth out of the intake manifold and clean the intake manifold with a wet and dry vacuum VAS 5128 if necessary.

Assembling

-- Replace O-ring -3-.

-- Carefully mount the EGR potentiometer -G212- together with the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve -N18- -2- into the intake manifold seat -4- and tighten the bolts -1- to 10 Nm.
