Volkswagen Radio and Navigation Units

Radio units / radio-navigation systems are shipped with a security code.

Security code means that every unit with anti-theft coding has been programmed with its own code.

This code is not active from the factory.

NOTE:

The security code can be requested from the central database with the diagnostic tester. Refer to RADIO CODE, SETTING .

If SAFE appears continuously in display after switching on the radio, the radio is locked! Radio must remain switched on one hour, then the lock is deactivated. Now it is possible to enter the code anew.

For "Radio unit RCD 200", activate fixed code as follows:

-- Switch on the radio.

"SAFE" will first appear and then after three seconds "1000" will appear.

-- Confirm the code by pressing one of the two buttons -2- for 2 seconds.

The radio is ready for use.

NOTE:

If the radio was removed or the vehicle batter was disconnected, it is not necessary to manually cancel the anti-theft coding because the code number was stored after the first time is was entered.

If the radio is installed in a different vehicle, then the code numbers will not match and it is necessary to manually enter the code again.
