Engine Code And Engine Identification

NOTE:
From model year 2008, four-digit engine codes are used.
The first 3 digits describe the engine structure and are still stamped on the engine as before.
The fourth digit describes the engine output and depends on the engine control module.
Four-digit engine codes are on the type plate, the vehicle data label and the engine control module.
- Gasoline engines: Refer to [For engine(s) BGP, BGQ, CBTA, CBUA] ENGINE NUMBER or [For engine(s) BPY] ENGINE NUMBER or [For engine(s) CCTA, CBFA] ENGINE NUMBER .
- Diesel engines: Refer to [For engine(s) BRM] ENGINE NUMBER or [For engine(s) CBEA, CJAA] ENGINE NUMBER
