Cylinder Head Cover

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removing 

NOTE:

To perform the procedure, the ground cable must be disconnected from the battery. Check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain the antitheft code beforehand.

-- With the ignition switched off disconnect the battery ground cable.

-- All cable ties which are opened or cut off when removing, must be replaced in the same position when installing.

-- Remove the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .

-- Remove the wiring harness bracket -item 1- in the TIMING CHAIN COVER ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .

-- Remove the fuel line bracket -item 2- in the CYLINDER HEAD AND COVER ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .

-- Remove the cylinder head cover.

Installing 

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-- Tighten all the bolts by hand then tighten them to 10 Nm in a diagonal sequence.

-- Install the intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD .

NOTE:

Replace the cylinder head cover and/or gasket if damaged or leaking.

Ensure the fuel line is seated securely in the retainers.
