EVAP Canister
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Engine and transmission jack VAG 1383A
Removing
To protect the decoupling elements, secure the front part of the exhaust system to the vehicle underbody with wire before removing the mufflers.
-- Remove the center and rear mufflers. Refer to MUFFLER AND MOUNTS ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .
-- Remove the heat shield fasteners -arrows- shield.
-- For supporting purposes, place the VAG 1383 A under the rear subframe.
-- Place a block of wood -1- between the VAG 1383A and the subframe.
-- Remove rear bolts -arrows- at left and right of subframe.
-- Slowly lower the subframe using the VAG 1383A until the distance between the subframe (left) and body achieves the dimension -a-.
- Dimension -a- = 45 to 50 mm.
-- Disconnect the vent lines -3, 4 and 5- by pressing the release button.
-- Remove the bolts -1, 2 and 6-.
-- Release the retaining tabs in the -direction of the arrow- with a screwdriver and remove the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:
-- Connect the ventilation lines until they engage audibly.
-- Install the rear subframe. Refer to [For transmission(s) 0A4, 02E, 09G, 02Q] [For engine(s) BGP, BPY, AWP, BGQ, CBTA, CBUA, CCTA, CBFA] Removal and Installation .
