Grease the kidney-shaped cavities of the bonded rubber bushing with assembly paste G 052 150 A2 before installing rear axle.

If the rear axle is not "lubricated" when installed, it will be noisy when driving.

The mounting bracket may only be fastened to the rear axle when spring is in compressed condition.

Otherwise the bonded rubber bushing will be distorted, resulting in reduced service life.

CAUTION:

Do not raise or lower the vehicle if the engine and transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A is under the vehicle.
Do not leave engine and transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A under the vehicle longer than necessary.
