Input Shaft Seal

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Pulling Hook T20143/1
Thrust Piece T40008
Sealing Grease for Seal G 052 128 A1

Removing

Remove the transmission.

-- Remove the clutch slave cylinder and the release bearing. Refer to SLAVE CYLINDER WITH RELEASE BEARING .

-- Pry out the input shaft seal using the pulling hook T20143/1.

NOTE:

Be careful not to damage the contact surface for the shaft seal on the input shaft.

-- Fill the space between the sealing and dust lips -arrow- halfway with sealing grease for seal G 052 128 A1.

-- Lightly coat the outer circumference of the seal with transmission fluid.

-- Drive in the seal using the thrust piece T40008 until it is flush.

-- Install the clutch slave cylinder and release bearing. Refer to SLAVE CYLINDER WITH RELEASE BEARING .

Install the transmission.
