Clutch Position Sensor -G476-

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Hose Clamps up to 25 mm Dia.3094

Removing

-- First, check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain the antitheft code.

-- Turn off the ignition and disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Remove the air filter housing if it is located near the battery. Refer to one of the following:

Gas engines, refer to [For engine(s) BPY] ENGINE COVER/UPPER AIR FILTER HOUSING or [For engine(s) CCTA, CBFA] AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- Remove the battery and the battery tray. Refer to Removal and Installation .

If a hose/line assembly -1- with a round component is installed directly below the master cylinder, the hose/line assembly must be removed.

NOTE:

While performing the following work, make sure no brake fluid comes into contact with the longitudinal member or the transmission. If it does, clean the area thoroughly.

-- Place a lint free cloth under the master cylinder.

-- Clamp off the supply hose to the master cylinder using the hose clamps up to 25 mm dia.3094.

-- Pull the circlip -2- out using a screwdriver or pointed tool and pull it from the master cylinder until it stops.

-- Remove the hose/line assembly -1- or plastic line from the master cylinder and seal it.

-- Disconnect the connector -4-.

-- Unclip the clutch position sensor from the master cylinder -arrow- and remove it.

NOTE:

Ignore -3-.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal while observing the following:

NOTE:

Replace the hose clamps

If the hose/line assembly was removed:

-- Push the hose/line assembly -1- or plastic line into the master cylinder connection -4- with the new seal -2- until the circlip -3- engages audibly.

-- Pull on the hose/line assembly or plastic line to make sure it is secure.

-- After removing the hose clamp up to 25 mm dia.3094, bring the hose back to its original shape.

-- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to CLUTCH SYSTEM, BLEEDING .

-- Install the battery tray and the battery. Refer to Removal and Installation .

-- Install the air filter housing, if it is located near the battery. Refer to one of the following:

Gas engines, refer to [For engine(s) BPY] ENGINE COVER/UPPER AIR FILTER HOUSING or [For engine(s) CCTA, CBFA] AIR FILTER HOUSING .

-- Connect the battery and follow the steps for after connecting the battery. Refer to Removal and Installation .
