Sealing Flange And Flywheel Assembly Overview

1. Seal 
   • Do not additionally oil or grease sealing lip of oil seal
   • Before installing, remove oil remains from crankshaft journal with a clean cloth
   • Seal for crankshaft - ribbed belt side, replacing CRANKSHAFT SEAL, BELT PULLEY SIDE .
2. Sealing flange, belt pulley side 
   • Must be located on dowel sleeves
   • Removing and installing SEALING FLANGE, BELT PULLEY SIDE .
   • Insert with silicone sealantD 176 404 A2 SEALING FLANGE, BELT PULLEY SIDE .
3. Cylinder block 
   • Removing and installing crankshaft CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .
   • Piston and connecting rod, disassembling and assembling PISTONS AND CONNECTING ROD ASSEMBLY OVERVIEW .
4. 60 Nm + 90° ( ¹  / ₄  turn) additional turn 
   • Replace
5. Flywheel 
   • To remove and install flywheel, secure using flywheel retainer 3067
6. Intermediate plate 
   • Must be located on dowel sleeves
   • Do not damage or bend when doing assembly work
7. 15 Nm 
   • Replace
8. Sealing flange with seal, flywheel side 
   • Replace only complete with seal and sensor wheel
   • Removing and installing SEALING FLANGE, FLYWHEEL SIDE .
9. Engine speed (RPM) sensor -G28- 
   • Loosen and tighten with commercially available ball head socket insert
   • Tightening specifications: 5 Nm
