Oil Pump

Special Tools And Workshop Equipment Required

Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) V.A.G 1331

Removing

-- Remove the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN .

-- Remove the circlip -1- using circlip pliers.

-- Install a M3 bolt -2- and remove the input shaft from the oil pump -arrow-.

-- Remove the bolt -4- and remove the intake connection from the oil pump.

-- Remove the bolts -3 and 5- and the oil pump.

CAUTION:

Do not loosen the bolt for the intermediate sprocket.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Replace the O-ring.
Replace a damaged or stretched circlip.
The circlip must lie in the base of the groove.
Tightening specifications, refer to OIL PUMP, PAN AND BALANCE SHAFT MODULE OVERVIEW .

-- Before installing the oil pump, make sure both alignment sleeves for centering the pump on the balance shaft assembly are present.

-- Install the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN .
