Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, erasing (function 05): Requirement:

- DTC memory has been checked, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) MEMORY, CHECKING (FUNCTION 02) .
After DTC memory has been checked:
Indicated in display:
- Press buttons -0- and -5- to select function 05, Erase DTC memory.
Indicated in display:
- Press -Q- button to confirm entry.
Indicated in display:
NOTE:
- If the ignition was switched off between checking DTC Memory and erasing DTC Memory, DTC Memory will not be erased.
- Always adhere strictly to the sequence of operations, i.e. first check DTC Memory.
Indicated on display:
(DTC memory will be erased approx. 5 secs. after display appears.)
DTC memory is now erased.
NOTE:
Wait approx.1 minute before again checking DTC Memory.
Indicated on display:
Print out with printer switched on:
TCM -J217- was not given sufficient time to recognize malfunctions.
- Wait approx.1 minute before again checking DTC memory.
- After checking and erasing DTC memory, test drive vehicle and check DTC memory again.
When DTC memory is checked, the following display should appear:
"No DTC recognized!"
