Evaluation for display group No. 001

Evaluation For Display Group No. 001

Display field Designation Display content Correction of malfunction
1 Driver's Side Airbag Igniter -N95- correct No malfunction determined
to Ground Check wiring by visual inspection only
to positive
  • While watching display, check that airbag system connections are correct and secure.

    If display content changes to "correct":

  • Erase DTC memory.
  • Disconnect igniter connector from airbag unit.

    If display changes to "too large":
too small
  • Replace airbag unit.

    If display remains "too small":

  • Disconnect connector at airbag spiral spring with slip ring.

    If display changes to "too large":

  • Replace airbag spiral spring with slip ring.

    If display remains "too small":

  • Replace wiring harness
too large
  • Disconnect igniter connector from airbag and connect to connector of test box VAS 5056. See TEST BOX VAS 5056, CONNECTING  .

    If display changes to "correct":

  • Replace airbag unit.

    If display remains "too large":

  • Disconnect connector at airbag spiral spring with slip ring.
  • Connect test box VAS 5056 to airbag wiring harness at connector for airbag spiral spring with slip ring. See TEST BOX VAS 5056, CONNECTING  .

    If display changes to "correct":

  • Replace airbag spiral spring with slip ring.

    If display remains "too large":

  • Press button on VAS 5056.

    If display remains "too large"

  • Replace wiring harness.
2 Passenger's Side Airbag Igniter -N131- correct No malfunction determined.
to Ground Check wiring by visual inspection only.
to positive While watching display, check that airbag system connections are correct and secure.
If display content changes to "correct":
too small
  • Erase DTC memory.
  • Disconnect connector between wiring harness and adapter wire to airbag unit.

    If display changes to "too large":

  • Replace airbag unit.

    If display remains "too small":
too large
  • Connect test box VAS 5056 to wiring harness for passenger's airbag, page, refer to CONNECTING VAS 5056 TO PASSENGER'S AIRBAG COMPONENTS  .
  • Press button on VAS 5056.

    If display changes to "too small":

  • Replace airbag unit.

    If display remains "too large":

  • Replace wiring harness.
