Fuel tank, draining

Recommended special tools and equipment
- VAS 5190 fuel siphoning device
Requirement
- Ignition switched off.
Work procedure
Observe safety precautions. Refer to Safety precautions when working on fuel supply system .
Observe rules for cleanliness. Refer to Rules of cleanliness .
- First determine whether a coded radio is installed. In this case, determine the anti-theft coding.
- Switch ignition off and disconnect Battery Ground (GND) strap.
- Open fuel filler flap.
- Remove fuel filler cap from fuel filler tube.
- Push suction hose -arrow- of VAS5190 fuel extraction device
approx. 100 to 120 cm
into fuel filler tube and extract fuel.
NOTE:
When no more fuel is being siphoned, fuel tank is emptied just enough to open sensor flange safely.
