Airbag-equipped vehicles have a crash fuel shut-off. This is intended to reduce the risk of vehicle fire following a crash by switching off the Fuel Pump (FP) via the Fuel Pump (FP) relay.

At the same time, this function improves comfort of engine start-up behavior.

When the door is opened, the Fuel Pump (FP) is activated for 2 seconds so that pressure builds in the fuel system.

When opening fuel system:

Observe safety precautions. Refer to Safety precautions when working on fuel supply system  .
