Instrument cluster, removing and installing

CAUTION: Before working on the electrical system:
  • Obtain radio anti -theft code.
  • Ignition OFF!
  • Disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.
NOTE:
  • After reconnecting battery:
    • Activate vehicle equipment such as radio, clock and power windows as per Repair Manual and/or Owner's Manual.
    • On vehicles equipped with OBD II, activate readiness code

      Refer to READ MEASURING VALUE BLOCK (FUNCTION 08)

  • When removing the instrument cluster, it is not necessary to remove the steering wheel. On the pages that follow, the steering wheel has been deleted from some illustrations in order to more clearly illustrate the procedure.
  • Instrument cluster modifications. Refer to Instrument cluster running change in production, from 01.96 and on .
NOTE:

Vehicles without height adjustable steering column

Vehicles with height adjustable steering column 

It is not necessary to remove steering column trim.
