Pedal cluster, servicing: Notes

WARNING:
  • Do not re-use fasteners that are worn or deformed in normal use.
  • Some fasteners are designed to be used only once, and are unreliable and may fail if used a second time. This includes, but is not limited to, nuts, bolts, washers, circlips and cotter pins. Always follow recommendations in this manual-replace these fasteners with new parts where indicated, and any other time it is deemed necessary by inspection.
CAUTION: Before working on the pedal cluster:
NOTE:

The following list pertains to Fig 1.

  1. Mounting bracket 
    • With accelerator pedal
    • With guide tube for clutch cable (arrow)
    • Before removing, remove steering column together with steering tube

    See STEERING COLUMN, STEERING COLUMN TUBE AND STEERING WHEEL, SERVICING .

  2. Nut 
    • Self-locking
    • Always replace
    • 25 N.m (18 ft lb)
  3. Stop buffer 
  4. Bolt 
    • Qty: 2
    • 25 N.m (18 ft lb)
  5. Pivot pin for clutch and brake pedals 
  6. Securing clip 
  7. Bolt 
    • 25 N.m (18 ft lb)
  8. Nut 
    • Self-locking
    • Always replace
    • 25 N.m (18 ft lb)
  9. Support 
  10. Brake pedal 
  11. Clutch pedal 
  12. Retainer 
    • Not applicable for USA/Canada
  13. Securing clip 
  14. Over-center spring 
  15. Over-center spring support 
    • Install in mounting bracket
