Front belt tensioning unit, deploying (disposal)
WARNING:
- It is dangerous to scrap an unignited gas generator.
- The belt tensioner unit gas generator must be made unusable before scrapping. This is important because the gas generator is a pyrotechnic device that can cause injury if activated improperly (for instance when using a cutting torch).
- Remove seat belt with belt tensioning unit. See FRONT SEAT BELTS WITH BELT TENSIONING SYSTEM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Use J-44210 Deployment Fixture and refer to the Airbag & Pyrotechnic Deployment Device Instruction Booklet for proper deployment procedure.
