Removal [06/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.
Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2020 - 10/2022]
NOTE:After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]
- REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [06/2020 - 12/2021]
- REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36
- REMOVE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY
- Check that the ignition switch is off.
- Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.WARNING:
- Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
- Pull out each connector with its connector lock pushed to disconnect the 3 connectors.
Push the Connector Lock Pull Out the Lock Lever NOTE:When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Remove the 3 bolts and airbag ECU assembly.NOTE:
If the airbag ECU assembly has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the airbag ECU assembly with a new one.
