Removal [03/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2022 - ]

    NOTE:

    After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

    Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [12/2022 - ]
  2. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER ASSEMBLY (for M20A-FXS) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 60 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    1. for M20A-FXS:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

    2. for 2ZR-FXE:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10

  5. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP

  6. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE INSIDE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  7. DISCONNECT REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP

  8. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER

  9. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

  10. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  11. REMOVE CENTER PILLER GARNISH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

      1. Remove the nut and disconnect the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.
      2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pull out the locking button as shown in the illustration to release the lock and disconnect the pretensioner connector.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts.
      4. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the front seat outer belt assembly.
  13. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly is necessary.
