Removal [03/2023 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:
    • After the ignition switch is turned off, there may be a waiting time before disconnecting the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.

      Refer to BEFORE DISCONNECTING BATTERY [12/2022 - ]

    • Make sure to read the precautions of the electric parking brake system before removing the rear brake assembly.

      Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2022 - ]

  2. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2022 - ] 

  3. PERFORM REAR BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT MODE 
    Refer to REAR BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT MODE [12/2022 - ] 
  4. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  5. DISCONNECT NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  6. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

    • Be careful not to get pinched by the rear disc brake cylinder assembly or other parts when removing the rear disc brake pads.
    • After lifting up the rear disc brake cylinder assembly, secure it in place before performing any work on it.
    • The rear disc brake cylinder assembly could fall, pinching hands or fingers and causing injury.

  7. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD

  8. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT

      *1 Rear Disc Brake Pad *2 Rear No. 1 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim
      *3 Rear No. 2 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim *4 Rear Disc Brake Pad Wear Indicator Plate
      1. Remove the rear No. 1 disc brake anti-squeal shim and rear No. 2 disc brake anti-squeal shim from each rear disc brake pad.
      2. Using a screwdriver, remove the rear disc brake pad wear indicator plate from each rear disc brake pad.
