Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE BACK DOOR CENTER GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  2. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH 
    1. Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
  4. REMOVE BACK DOOR FINISH COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  5. REMOVE BACK DOOR INSIDE HANDLE (w/ Power Back Door) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  6. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6
  7. REMOVE BACK DOOR LOCK COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8

  9. REMOVE BACK DOOR NO. 4 SERVICE HOLE COVER (w/ Cover) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27

  10. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE UPPER GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

      1. Manually operate the back door into a position where work can be easily performed.

      Move in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.
      2. Using moulding remover A, detach the claw and remove the back door outside upper garnish sub-assembly LH.
  11. REMOVE BACK DOOR OUTSIDE LOWER GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE:

    When removing the back door outside lower garnish sub-assembly LH, if the double-sided tape is difficult to remove, heat the adhesive of the back door outside lower garnish sub-assembly LH using a heat light.

    Part Temperature
    Back Door Outside Lower Garnish Sub-assembly LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)
    WARNING:
    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts.
    • Touching the heat light may result in burns.
    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    NOTE:

    Do not heat the back door outside lower garnish sub-assembly LH excessively.

      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Remove the screw and detach the claw.

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Heat the adhesive of the rear door front window frame moulding LH using a heat light.
      2. Detach the double-sided tape and remove the back door outside lower garnish sub-assembly LH.
  12. REMOVE NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE

      Double-sided Tape - -
      1. Heat the adhesive of the No. 1 moulding tape using a heat light.
      2. Using scraper, remove the No. 1 moulding tape.
        NOTE:

        Do not damage the back door outside lower garnish sub-assembly LH.

  13. REMOVE SCREW GROMMET
