Adjustment [09/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. SECURE VEHICLE 
    1. Fully apply the parking brake and chock a wheel.
      WARNING:
      • Make sure to apply the parking brake and chock a wheel before performing this procedure.

      • If the vehicle is not secure and the shift lever is moved to neutral, the vehicle may suddenly move, possibly resulting in an accident or serious injury.
  2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [11/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [09/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [08/2023 - 09/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [09/2024 - ]

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [09/2024 - ]

  5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [09/2024 - ]

  6. ADJUST TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    • After the floor shift shift lever assembly or the transmission control cable assembly is replaced, be sure to adjust the transmission control cable assembly.
    • If the shift lever does not move (or the shift lever is difficult to move) to the 1st or 2nd position, or if it is possible to move the shift lever to the reverse position without pulling up the slider shaft, the length of the transmission control cable assembly must be adjusted.
    1. Remove the clip and disconnect the transmission control select cable from the floor shift shift lever assembly.

    2. Slide the slider of the transmission control select cable in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration and pull the lock piece outward.

    3. Connect the transmission control select cable to the floor shift shift lever assembly and install the clip.

      NOTE:
      • Check that the lock piece is pulled out.
      • Push the end of the transmission control select cable all the way to the base of the floor shift shift lever assembly pin.
      • Connect the transmission control select cable so that the lock piece faces the driver side.
    4. Pressing the shift and select lever shaft and shift and select lever pin, push in the shift and select lever pin and check that the shift and select lever shaft is secured at the 1st-2nd gear (the shaft comes to a stop at the position 8 mm (0.315 in.) below the N position).

    5. Push the slider shaft against the cam wall.

      NOTE:
      • Do not pull up the slider shaft.
      • When adjusting the transmission control select cable, make sure that the shift lever is not in 1st or 2nd.
    6. Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

      NOTE:
      • Securely push in the lock piece until the 2 claws are engaged.
      • When adjusting the transmission control select cable, make sure that the shift lever is not in 1st or 2nd.
    7. Release the shift and select lever pin that secures the shift and select lever shaft.

      1. Pull the shift and select lever pin toward the front left side of the vehicle.
  7. INSTALL AIR CLEANER WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [09/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 10 [09/2024 - ]

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [09/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11 [09/2024 - ]

  9. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2022 - 08/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2023 - 09/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2024 - ]

  10. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [09/2022 - 11/2022] , or refer to INSTALLATION [11/2022 - 09/2024] , or refer to INSTALLATION [09/2024 - ]
