Neutral Position Switch Circuit [06/2018 - 01/2019]: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List
5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

   Powertrain > Engine > Data List 

   Tester Display	Measurement Item	Range	Normal Condition	Diagnostic Note
   Neutral Position Switch	Neutral position switch status	ON or OFF	ON: Shift lever in neutral OFF: Shift lever is in any position other than neutral	-

   Powertrain > Engine > Data List

   OK

   The value of the Data List item changes in accordance with the operation of the shift lever.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2018 - 01/2019]

See step  2

1. Disconnect the C76 ECM connector.
2. Disconnect the C63 neutral position switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   C76-83 (VCNP) - C63-1 (W1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   C76-106 (NPSW) - C63-2 (TMN)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   C76-60 (ENPS) - C63-3 (F+)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   C76-83 (VCNP) or C63-1 (W1) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   C76-106 (NPSW) or C63-2 (TMN) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   C76-60 (ENPS) or C63-3 (F+) - Other terminals and body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

4. Connect the C63 neutral position switch connector.
5. Connect the C76 ECM connector.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK

1. Disconnect the C63 neutral position switch connector.
2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Voltage

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   C63-1 (W1) - Body ground	Engine switch on (IG)	4.5 to 5.5 V

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   C63-1 (W1) - C63-2 (TMN)	Always	995 to 1005 Ω
   C63-3 (F+) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

4. Connect the C63 neutral position switch connector.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result:

REPLACE NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH. Refer to  COMPONENTS [06/2018 - 11/2022]

REPLACE ECM. Refer to  COMPONENTS [06/2018 - 09/2022]
