Removal [09/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEELS 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER SPLASH SHIELD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE PIN HOLD CLIP 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31

  5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RETAINER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32

  6. REMOVE SUB RADIATOR ASSEMBLY WITH SUB RADIATOR DUCT (w/ Sub Radiator) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [09/2024 - ]

  7. DRAIN WASHER FLUID 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6

  8. REMOVE INLET HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19

  9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER AIR GUIDE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21

  11. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24

  12. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9

  13. REMOVE FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  14. REMOVE COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18

  15. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR TUBE 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Loosen the 2 hose clamps to remove the No. 1 air tube from the No. 2 air hose and No. 3 air hose.
  16. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR HOSE 
    1. Loosen the hose clamp to remove the No. 2 air hose from the turbocharger sub-assembly.

  17. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire from the timing chain cover assembly.

  18. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 76

  19. REMOVE TIMING GEAR COVER INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the timing gear cover insulator from the timing chain cover assembly.

  20. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14

  21. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 12 bolts and seal washer.

    2. Remove the timing chain cover assembly by prying between the timing chain cover assembly and oil pan sub-assembly, cylinder block sub-assembly with a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape.

    3. Remove the 2 oil pump gaskets from the cylinder block sub-assembly.

      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan sub-assembly.

  22. REMOVE TIMING CHAIN COVER OIL SEAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 21
